Scope
- Book Page content object > Image macro > Open in New Window property
- Simulation content object > Icon Link macro > Open in New Window property
- Simulation content object > Text Link macro > Open in New Window property
- Simulation content object > Image macro > Open in New Window property
Purpose
This property is used for macros that (directly or indirectly) open another content object or file. By default, this linked content object is typically opened in the same browser window as the object containing the link (although this may be overridden by certain browsers and/or certain linked file types). For SAP Enable Now objects, the linked object is opened 'on top of' the current object (you will see an incremental counter on the Close button on the upper-right of the content object window) and when you close the called object, you are returned to the previous object at the exact point you left off.
If the Open in New Window property is selected, then the linked content is opened in a new browser window (or browser tab, depending upon browser settings). This is of most use when liking to an external file or website which you do not want to replace the calling SAP Content Object - for example, because you want the user to be able to see both at the same time.
Use
If you select this property, you will almost certainly also want to review the properties in the New Window Properties category (which normally immediately follows the Link category).
