Where to find it

Purpose

If, during playback in Practice Mode or Test Mode, the user performs an incorrect action, they are prompted to try again, go on to the next step, or show help. The effect specified in this setting is used to highlight the screen element they need to interact with at the same time.

Use

This setting can take the following values:

  • Show: The Highlight is shown without any effects.
  • Animate: The Highlight will be 'drawn' onto the screen, counter-clockwise or left-to-right, depending on the Type.
  • Pulsate: This is the default, and causes the Highlight repeatedly fade in and out.
  • Flash: The Highlight will flash (in solid color) four times.
  • Zoom: The Highlight will appear at approximately 2x the action area size, and 'zoom in' on the action area. This will be repeated three times.
  • Hotspot: The Highlight appears around the action area, and then expands outwards as a solid, thicker border. (Tip: Do not use this setting with a Type of Underline.)
