Discontinued

This setting was discontinued in the 2211 release, as now notifications are sent out from a dedicated SAP Enable Now SMTP mail server which uses the address mail@enable-now.cloud.sap).

Where to find it

  • Manager > Administration > Server Settings menu > Miscellaneous category > Reply Email Address

Purpose

This setting can be used to specify the email address that will be shown as the sender of automatic email notifications - and therefore the address that will be used if the recipient of the email replies to it.

Use

If this field is left blank, the 'from' will show as something on ondemand.com (SAP's outgoing SMTP server) - which is where the email is actually being sent from.

Although it can be tempting to change this to someone in your organization (or possibly the same shared mailbox used for Email address for learner feedback), be careful as some incoming mail servers will automatically (and without notice to the intended recipient) reject emails where the specified 'from' address is different from the actual from email address, as the server determines this to be probably spam or malware. You should therefore take care that ondemand.com is whitelisted in the incoming mail server.
