Purpose

This property specifies the width of the border (if any) that should be drawn around the entire Book Page. A value of 0 indicates that no border should be drawn.

This property is most useful if the Book Page will be included in generated documents (most commonly the Compound Document). If a border is not applied, and the Book Page does not have a clearly-distinguishable edge, the generated document content may look odd, with white space being left for no apparent good reason (because it isn't immediately obvious that it is a part of the Book Page area).

If the Book Reader is set to scale the Book Page 'to fit', then if the Book Page has no border, it will run flush to the edges of the reader. If a Border Width is specified then in addition to this space being dedicated to the border, an additional 5 pixels of space is left between the border and the edge of the Reader, so that the border itself is better defined. The Book Page will be scaled down slightly to accommodate this. This is not necessary if the Book Reader displays Book Pages at 100%.
