Scope
- Content object > Web Assistant Context > Product Version property
Purpose
This property specifies the specific version(s) of the product (application) for which the content object should be suggested as applicable context-sensitive content. Typically, this is specified for Simulation projects or Book Pages that you want to be suggested in the Web Assistant Suggested Learning dialog box.
This property can either be manually entered (with values identified in the application via the Web Assistant Tools > Show Context option) or (for Book Pages) you can use the Record Context button at the top of the Properties sheet for the content object in Producer.
This is a critical property to maintain, as if the application is updated to a new version, any existing content objects assigned to that application will no longer be displayed as the Product Version will no longer match. Fortunately, a utility is available in Producer (Tools > Web Assistant > Context Maintenance) that allows you to add or change Product Versions (and Product Names, if necessary) for an entire branch of the Workarea structure.
