Where to find it
- [Manager] Administration > Server Settings > Miscellaneous > Valid time of a session (s)
Purpose
This setting defines the number of seconds that a 'session' between the client and the server can be open without data being transmitted. After this amount of time, the session will be closed and the user must log on again.
This setting was introduced in Cloud Release 1911 Hotfix 1 to work around session timeouts in low-bandwidth scenarios.
Use
The setting defaults to 3600 seconds (1 hour). This should be sufficient in most scenarios, but can be increased if necessary. Bear in mind that a large number of open sessions can adversely impact Server performance, so if you routinely expect a large number of concurrent users you may want to reduce this to 10 or 20 minutes.
