Where to find it

  • Manager > Administration > Server Settings menu > Security category > Maximum number of login attempts before blocking setting

Purpose

If the Enable brute force protection for authentication setting is selected, then the Maximum number of login attempts before blocking setting can be used to define the number of incorrect attempts a user can make before their Userid is locked. Once their Userid is locked, the user will not be able to make any further attempts to log in for a certain period of time. This period starts at 1 minute, and increases by an additional minute for every additional incorrect attempt - up to the maximum specified in the Maximum lockout time in seconds setting.
