Where to find it

  • Producer > Tools > Settings > Producer > Directories > Autosave

Purpose

If this checkbox is selected, then SAP Enable Now will automatically save the file you are currently editing after the number of minutes specified in the Autosave Interval setting.

Use

This is useful in case something unexpected happens and Producer crashes. On restart, you will see a message similar to the one below, and you can load the saved changes.

Example of the message shown if Producer crashes but you have autorecover active

Be careful of using a setting that is too frequent, as the save can be disruptive, especially for longer simulations. Effectively, weigh up "how much work I can afford to lose and re-do" vs. how distracting it is to have to wait for x seconds every y minutes while it saves a backup.
