Use Text From

Scope

• Simulation content object > Input Text macro > Use Text From property

Purpose

All Simulation projects allow for separate texts to be entered for Demo mode and Practice mode. The Use Text From property allows you to select whether these texts should be entered and used separately, or whether one or other of the texts should be used in both modes. Options are:

• Each Mode - Demo Text and Practice Text are entered separately and displayed during playback in their associated modes.
• Demo Mode - Only the Demo Text property will be available/maintained, and this text will be displayed in both Demo mode and Practice mode. The Practice Text property and the Practice Bubble category of properties will be hidden in the editor.
• Practice Mode - Only the Practice Text property will be available/maintained, and this text will be displayed in both Demo mode and Practice mode. The Demo Text property and the Demo Bubble category of properties will be hidden in the editor.

Use

If there is a possibility that the simulation will be converted to a Desktop Assistant Guided Tour, and you choose to use the Use Text From option, choose to use the Practice Text. This is because the conversion will always take the contents of the Practice Text property, regardless of the Use Text From setting.
