Scope

  • Content object > Basic Properties > Keywords

Purpose

The Keywords property can be used to associate one or more specific words or text strings with a content object. Users can then search on the keyword in the Trainer and locate the associated content object. Keywords should therefore be texts that do not appear elsewhere in the searchable content of the content object.

Note that content objects are not 'full-text' searchable. That is, the search function does not search in the text in the actual body of the content object (for example, in Bubbles in a Simulation or in text objects on a Book Page). Instead, it only searches in the following content object properties:

Typically, you would use Keywords to associate synonyms with content—for example, specifying a Keyword of “localization” for a content object that describes “translation”, but you could just as easily use hashtags to group related content objects—such as using a Keyword of #2019UPDATE to allow users to locate training material specific to the 2019 system update.
