Automatically Convert Non-Audio Projects

From SAP Enable Now Wiki

Where to find it

  • Producer > Menu option Tools > Text-to-Speech > Generate Text-to-Speech > Text-to-Speech dialog box > Automatically Convert Non-Audio Projects option

Purpose

Simulation projects must be designated as 'audio projects' before you can provide audio(either recorded, imported, or generated) for them. This is (presumably) because additional properties need to maintained, and it is inefficient to automatically include these in all simulation projects if they won't be used in the vast majority of cases.

Normally, you can designate a simulation project as an 'audio' project (and add the required properties) by selecting menu option Project > Convert to Audio Project from within the Project Editor. You need to do this before you can record or import audio (the menu options to do so will not be available until you do). However, if you want to generate Text-to-Speech audio, SAP Enable Now reasons that you will also want to convert the project to an audio project, so it performs this for you automatically.

If you are generating Text-to-Speech audio from the Producer Workarea (via menu option Tools > Text-to-Speech > Generate Text-to-Speech (for example, to generate audio for multiple simulation projects at the same time), SAP Enable Now can convert the selected projects to audio projects as it processes them - but only if you select the Automatically Convert Non-Audio Projects option. Presumably this is to make sure you don't accidentally generate audio for projects that should not have audio (you would convert only specific projects from within the Editor as described above, prior to running the generate function from the Workarea).
