Book Reader Toolbar
From SAP Enable Now Wiki
The Book Reader Toolbar is displayed (by default) whenever a Book Page is displayed in the Book Reader. It can be suppressed via the Hide Book Panel property, and elements of it can be suppressed via additional properties of the Book.
An example of a typical Book Reader Toolbar is shown below.
The buttons shown in this example are (from left to right):
Button | Explanation |
---|---|
Start Page | Clicking on this button will return the user to the page selected as the Start Page in the Book’s properties. If no specific content page is selected, this control will not be displayed (regardless of the Hide Index Page Control property). |
Previous Chapter | If the Book contains nested Books, then clicking on this button will display the first page of the current (sub)Book. If the Book does not contain nested books, this control is not displayed. |
Previous Page | Goes back to the previous Book Page in the Book. |
Pause / Play | If playback is automated, this button will pause playback or resume playback, accordingly. |
Next Page | Advances to the next Book Page in the Book. |
Next Chapter | If the Book contains nested Books, then clicking on this button will advance to the first page of the next (sub)Book. If the Book does not contain nested books, this control is not displayed. |
Search | Clicking on this button will display the Keyword Search dialog box, which allows the user to search for a text string in the Book. |
Progress Indicator | The two numbers show the sequence number of the current page within the Book, and the total number of Book Pages in the Book, respectively. The progress bar above the numbers provides a visual indication of the position of the current page within the book (and not what proportion of the pages have been viewed). |
Table of Contents | This is a drop-down list of all of the Book Pages in the Book. The user can select a page from this list to jump directly to that page. |
Share | If the user clicks on this button, then they are presented with the Share Content dialog box, which contains the direct URL of the currently-displayed object, and a QR code of this URL. |
Pause Audio / Play Audio | Clicking on this button toggles between pausing and playing any audio included in the object. Note that this button (and the next two) are displayed (subject to the Hide Audio Controls property) regardless of whether the content object actually contains any audio. |
Audio Off / Audio On | Clicking on this button toggles between suppressing and enabling audio for the object. Note that the button image actually shows the current state of audio playback, and not the state triggered by clicking the button. |
Volume | Clicking on this button displays a dialog box that allows you to control the volume of any audio for the object. You can control the overall volume, or you can independently control sound effects and background music, and text-to-speech narration. |
Bottom Bar / Top Bar | Clicking on this button toggles between showing the Book Reader Toolbar at the top of the reader window and showing it at the bottom of the reader window. |
Help | Displays the standard SAP Enable Now help. |
Close | Closes the current Book. Note that if this object was opened from another object (for example, another Book Page), then the current ‘nesting level’ is shown in the upper-right corner of this button—as shown in the example at the start of this section—and clicking on the button will close the current object and return to the previous object. |
