Where to find it

Example of the Edit Assigned Content dialog box, used for creating or editing assignments of learning object Groups to Learners (or Roles or OUs).

• Manager > Assignment > New button or Edit link > Edit Assigned Content dialog box > Date Range

Purpose

This specifies the period during which the course assignment will be visible in the assignees' Learner View. If no dates are specified, the assignment is always available (subject to the Active setting, of course).

Use

This is useful if the course is only applicable for a specific period, but there is no indication in the Learner View of the limited availability, nor any warning that the end date is approaching.
