Profile Change

Where to find it

• Authoring Settings > Recording - General > Profile Change setting

Purpose

This setting determines what happens when you switch from one application to another during recording (or, specifically, when you switch from an application that one recording profile should be used for, to an application that a different recording profile should be used for.

The options are:

• Never Change: Always keep the profile selected at the start of recording
• Always change: Always prompt for a new profile when the application changes
• Restrict to Profile: Only allow profiles assigned for that application to be used

Use

Sometimes SAP Enable Now will attempt to switch to what it determines is a 'better' (or 'more applicable') recording profile to use. This can cause problems if the new profile is not working the way you want it to - for example, you may want to record everything using the Generic Application profile, and do not want this changing when you switch to a new application. In this case, you would select a setting of Never Change.
