Purpose
This setting determines the format in which tracking data (progress, completion, and scoring) will be gathered, and then provided at the end of playback of a learning content object. The options are:
- none: Do not provide tracking data.
- automatic: Use the appropriate method/format depending on how the content was launched.
- Manager: Send tracking data back to Manager.
- SCORM (automatic)
- SCORM 1.2
- SCORM 2004
- AICC
- Cookies: Tracking data will only be stored in the user's browser cookies, and not sent anywhere else. This at least allows users to re-start and pick up where they left off, across browser sessions.
Use
Normally you would leave this setting set to automatic (especially if content may be published to a variety of delivery systems), or use the appropriate setting for the way in which the content objects will be launched (e.g. from a SCORM 2004 compatible LMS).
If you want to make use of the tracking reports in Manager, this setting must be set to Manager.
