Scope

Purpose

An Imported Page macro is used to provide an additional 'page' image (a screenshot or other image) in a Simulation project. Typically you would do this when you need to include another Screen macro but recording the application is not possible, or you already have a screenshot file available to you and want to use this.

Use

To insert an Imported Page macro, carry out the following steps:

  1. Select menu option Insert > Insert Special Macro > Import Image.
  2. The Select Images dialog box is displayed. Navigate to and select the image you want to use, and click Open. (You can select multiple files at the same time; each file will be inserted in its own Step.)
Import Images dialog box for the Insert Images option
  1. The Import Images dialog box is displayed. Complete the input fields as follows:
    1. If necessary, set the image dimensions in the Width and Height. If you are importing the image to use as a Screen macro, you should use the same dimensions as the other screens in the Simulation.
    2. Specify the number of seconds for which the image file should be displayed in Demo mode in the Display Duration field.
    3. If you want the image file to be inserted as a Screen then select the Import as Screen Macro property. In this case, you will get a Screen macro and not an Imported Page macro.
    4. If you want the image to be resampled (typically, if you specified dimensions different to the original image dimensions) then select the Resample Images option.
    5. If you chose Import as Screen Macro and you also want to insert a Mouse Action in the same step then select the Insert Mouse Action option.
  2. Click OK

A new Step will be inserted into the Simulation for each image selected. Each Step will contain either an Imported Page macro and a Mouse Action macro or a Screen macro and (optionally) a Mouse Action macro.
