Scope

Purpose

The BPM Object object is used to insert a specialized visual object that functions as an element in a Business Process Model (BPM) flowchart. BPM flowcharts typically depict the sequence of tasks that take place for a defined business process, and identify (by way of Connection objects) the sequence of these tasks.

Key to a BPM is identification of the tasks, and who carries out each task. The BPM Object provides properties for both of these, along with the ability to attach notes and other files, and to hyperlink to another content object (for example, a Simulation for the task).

Properties

Available Actions

The following Actions can be selected for a BPM Object object when it is used as the target of a triggered event:

  • Animate In: Display the BPM Object using the method defined in the object's Animate In Effect property.
  • Animate Out: Hide the BPM Object using the method defined in the object's Animate Out Effect property.
  • Animate Toggle: Show the BPM Object if it is currently hidden, or hide it if it is currently displayed, using the object's Animate In Effect or Animate Out Effect property as appropriate.
  • Hide: Hide the BPM Object (immediately, without regard to its Animate Out Effect property).
  • Show: Show the BPM Object (immediately, without regard to its Animate In Effect property).
  • Toggle: Hide or show the BPM Object (immediately).
