Show Shadow

Scope

• Book Page content object > Object > Shadow > Show Shadow property

Purpose

This property is used to add a shadow effect to the parent object.

Use

If this property checkbox is selected (which means that a shadow will be shown for the object) then the following additional properties are added to the Shadow category:

• Shadow Color - Color to use for the shadow
• Shadow Opacity - How transparent to make the shadow
• Shadow Blur - How much solid color to add to the outer boundaries of the shadow
• Shadow Spread - How much blur to apply to the shadow
• Shadow Horizontal - How much offset to shift the shadow to the right
• Shadow Vertical - How much offset to shift the shadow down

These properties are fairly complex to understand, and in some cases are inconsistently implemented, depending on whether other properties are specified or not. It's best to refer to the explanations of the individual properties themselves, but the following graphic is offered to provide a side-by-side comparison of what the last four of these do, individually.
