Where to find it

  • Manager > Assignment > New button or Edit link > Edit Assigned Content dialog box > Learning Path Mode

Purpose

Example of the Edit Assigned Content dialog box, used for creating or editing assignments of learning object Groups to Learners (or Roles or OUs).

'Learning Path Mode' controls the sequence in which content objects within an Assignment (effectively, sub-objects of the assigned object) are made available to and can be carried out by the Learner. Specifically, if Learning Path Mode is used then the sub-objects must be carried out in the order they are included within the assigned object.

This setting can take the following values:

  • off: Learning Path Mode is not used. This is the default.
  • show only available: The objects must be carried out in the order defined. Only objects that have been completed, and the next object to be completed, are shown in Learner View.
  • show all: The objects must be carried out in the order defined. All objects are listed in Learner View, but the Learner will only be able to start the next (as yet incomplete) object.

Note that the Learning Path Mode setting is only available for editing (and is therefore only applicable) if the Scoring Method is set to Percent Completed and Display as is set to one of: Object and direct sub objects, Object and sub objects (2 levels), or Objects and sub objects.
