On Not Ready

Scope

Purpose

This property is used to specify the action(s) that should be performed before the user has finished answering a question (that is, they before they are ready to 'submit' their answer (by clicking on the control that triggers the Check action for the question object). This action will always be triggered when the question object is initially displayed, but will also be triggered if the Reset action is triggered for the question. (There are possibly other situations where it would be triggered - for example, with a Puzzle type question using a second field, where the user moves all pieces into the answer grid (triggering the On Ready event) but then moves one of the pieces out again.)

Use

When activated, this property presents a text box with just an Add link available in it. Clicking on this link inserts a two-column table row above this link. The link can be used to add further actions to be performed when the object is clicked. All actions are performed at exactly the same time, when the parent object is clicked on. If you want to stagger their execution, trigger a Time Control and specify the individual actions and their timing in that.
