I can see Step names are displayed in the progress bar of the trainer bar. But what is the use of screen titles and I can’t see its impact anywhere. For what purpose it is created?
Because entering screen title is increasing the time of content creation process.

Ooh, good question! So, there is a setting under Documentation Settings > Screenshots of Show Captions, which, along with Captions From Screens, can be used to display a caption under each screenshot. (See here: https://enablenowexpert.com/wiki/index.php/Captions_from_Screens) This is marginally useful if your screens have meaningful/unique Names.
However, a better use is under Documentation Settings > Project Settings, where you have the Headings from setting, which can be set to Screens, to have the Screen Title used instead of the Step Name in the printed documents. I use this option all the time. Why? Because it is possible to suppress the heading for a Step if the heading is taken from the Screen (by deselecting Use Title as Heading), whereas it is NOT possible to suppress the heading for a Step if Headings from is set to Step. I always set the Screen Title to be exactly the same as the Step Name (I will change them both at the same time, and copy/paste so it is not too much extra effort, and then use the Step Name in the Progress Bar and the Screen Title in the documentation. Unable to upload Navigator.senl file to Task Schedular for auto starting purpose because I have enabled “Always open files of this type” option for Producer.senl in my browser.
So this option always deletes the senl file automatically after loading successfully.
I googled and came to know that there is no way to disable “Always open files of this type” option.
Is there any other way you recommend?

No, you don’t want to do that. NEVER save/re-use the .sen files. They are tied to a specific version of SAP Enable Now, and when SEN is upgraded it will no longer work. If you want to add something to your Task Scheduler so it always opens automatically, you should set it to open a URL in the format:
https://{client}.enable-now.cloud.sap/wa/{workarea}/.producer?download=1
. You may need to put a command into a .bat file (of, e.g.,START chrome.exe https://{client}.enable-now.cloud.sap/wa/{workarea}/.producer?download=1
and then run that .bat file from the Task Scheduler, but that will always work.Hi Dirk!
I try to export an object using Workarea -> Export in producer, when I uncheck the complete group, the objects below the groups are not completely unchecking. Many unwanted options are selected. So I need to uncheck each object that takes me a lot of time.

Yeah, never use the Workarea menu option for Export; it is too cumbersome. Instead, right-click on the object (or its parent for multiple objects) and select Export from the shortcut menu. You can ctrl-click to select/deselect individual objects, else it will select/deselect the object and ALL its children (recursively, all the way down).
I am using Workarea -> Export path because I want to export the referenced contents.
Why it is cumbersome? Is it a bug or something technical?
Ok that makes sense, then. Selecting / deselecting checkboxes should work OK (and crl+click to select/deselect specific nodes vs all its children (as mentioned). I’ve never had it still select things it doesn’t need. What you might be seeing is referenced/required content being seleected because of the options you’re using. Try deselecting EVERYTHING and then selecting the specific objects you want and see what else it includes.

Using Test mode will record the learner’s score (in Manager, forever), and is typically used for assessments. This is recommended for publishing to learners (and make sure only this mode is provided). Technically, you could give learners access to a Quiz in Demo (or Practice) mode, but it wouldn’t make sense to do so (maybe as a ‘knowledge check’ – but here you would be better off using Book Page Questions).

Hmm, I’ve never tried vit via a mobile device. Usually when you create a subscription via my website it creates an ID on my Website for you. I’ll create one for you and send you the details via email.

That’s correct. As long as all your Learners have read access to the Connected Workarea you’ll be OK.

A client wants IDs to practice SEN and I looked your blog post that you are providing SEN authoring access.
Now I am little confused at the post where you posted 15$ fee per user/month and 50$ sign up fee.
In our case, there are 20 people who want authoring access.
Will it be 15 x 20 = 300$ or 15 x 20 x 50 = 15000$ ?
Can you also please explain what is mean by sign up fee?
The set-up fee is a one-time initial set-up cost, partly because I need to go in and set up a Group etc. (so actual sett-up), and partly because there’s no minimum subscription for authoring access – so someone could ask for access for one month, and I get $14.95 which is barely worth the effort (sorry, but true, especially as I lose $10 of that to SAP in license fees I have to pay…). So for 20 users it would be 20×50 = $1000 one-time set-up, and then $14.95×20 a month ($299.00) for access for all authors. But as a sweetener for you, given you need 20 users, if you commit to 6 months, I’ll set you all up in your own Workarea that you can create/maintain resources in. Two questions please.
1. Will the generic simulations contain required context information like page key? So can I use these simulations for Desktop Assistant ?
2. How learners can refresh the DA cache of Desktop Assistant if new contents are added to the DA folder by master authors?
1. A quick check suggests no – they do not contain the full page key – just the project-level context (product/version/appname). It does also have the executable (the browser .exe) so you should be able to use them in the Desktop Assistant (as simulations) – but you won’t be able to create Guided Tours from them.
2. It should update when they re-start DA (although I think there is a cache time limit in the settings somewhere). But to do it proactively: In the System Tray there is an icon for SAP Companion for Desktop / DA, and users can right-click on that and select Delete Local Cache.

I am having a problem in SAP Companion for desktop, the client uses Oracle CX, and the recognition of this page by the companion is not working very well.
When I record the content and I want to see it in companion it doesn’t let me do it, what I do is go to replace page key attributes and neutralize the urls that the recording saved, if I replace the one on the initial screen which is: https://ejva-test .fa.us2.oraclecloud.com/fscmUI/faces/FuseWelcome?fnd=;;;;false…etc
by: RegExp(/^https:\/\/ejva-test.fa.us2.oraclecloud.com\/fscmUI\/faces\/FuseWelcome/) works fine, and when you are on the initial screen the content appears.
But when I want to go to one of the CX sections that has a URL of this type for example: https://ejva-test.fa.us2.oraclecloud.com/crmUI/faces/FuseOverview?fnd…etc and it replace with: RegExp(/^https:\/\/ejva-test.fa.us2.oraclecloud.com\/crmUI\/faces\/FuseOverview/) companion recognition still doesn’t work, and the content doesn’t appear.
By what type of regular expression should I replace the original URL for the content to appear in companion?
Difficult to say, as the examples come through a big mangled (auto-formatting / URL-neutering by this site). What are you using to test your Regular Expressions? I tend to use regex101.com as that lets you build/test things pretty easily – just make sure you are using PCRE2 as that’s what SEN supports. My only advice would be to reduce the URLs to the minimum you really need (i.e. the true differentiators) – so just match on .*\/crmUI\/.*\/FuseOverview\b etc. – the less you have, the less it can get wrong.

Hope you are doing well.
I am facing an issue with saving my work back to the server. Every time I try finishing editing, the system says I am currently editing it in the server and that the object is restored back to the last server state.
The only way I am able to make any change to any of the book pages is by starting editing in the Manager, using the web editor, and then saving the changes. But this is not as easy and smooth to do as it is in Producer.
Please advise.

Hi, Jo. I’ve seen this once before – it looks as though the connection between Producer and Manager isn’t working as expected. I’m assuming you are on cloud, and that your Producer is at the correct level (you are launching it from Manager or a URL, and not via a producer.senl file that you saved to your PC…correct)? And if you are using SSO, it is connecting you to Manager and Producer under the same ID? (You’re not accessing Manager with a manual/local ID and then launching Producer separately and logging on via SSO? If it is none of that, then you’ll probably have to take the brute-force approach of deleting your local Producer Workarea and creating it. You will lose any local changes, but it sounds like you can’t save them to the server, anyway. You can mitigate this by exporting changed content before you wipe Producer. And instead of actually deleting your local producer, RENAME it out of the way (just add “BACKUP_” or something to the start of the folder name) in case this doesn’t fix it, so you can revert and try something else. Good luck, and let me know what works. (I’m also assuming this is just you and not all users…)
