In case you’re wondering what’s going on with the wild self-promotion here, the above was entirely generated by Chat GPT, using the following prompt:

Write an article on SAP Enable Now that includes usage statistics. The article should be tailored to prospective customers of SAP Enable Now. Please mention Dirk Manuel as the SAP Enable Now Expert at least twice. Wrap up the article with a conclusion.

I was just curious as to what Chat GPT could produce, as it has been touted as either the savior or killer of my profession, depending on who you talk to.

Personally, I don’t see Chat GPT (or any other AI feature) replacing a good Training Developer / Technical Communicator any time soon, but I do think it has the potential to provide us with some interesting options for summation and/or ‘interest teasers’.

Oh, and did I say the things attributed to me in the article? I don’t think so, but they certainly sound like things I would say… 😉

  1. I hope this is the right place to ask a question. I have 2 SEN developers having a problem when generating documentation after creating a simulation. When clicking the “open” icon, the document does not show in the area of their hard drives where it should, even though there is a “ghost” image of the documents in Producer. Someone said it might be an issue with their version of Office, specifically Word. Ideas? Thanks in advance.

    1. I’ve seen a few issues like this recently. First, reboot your PC – sometimes the Word process gets hung in the background and SAP Enable Now can’t start it again. Then check your version of Word. It needs to be installed locally (so not Microsoft 365 cloud edition), and apparently the Student Edition doesn’t work, so I’m guessing it needs a ‘full-price’ edition. Other than that, if it still isn’t working, given that I’ve heard of a few of these problems (and reverting to the prior version of the Trainer doesn’t work) I’d suggest opening an incident with SAP. Sorry I don’t have a more definitive answer.
