    When trying to create documentation template, I can see there are some already available templates. What is the meaning of “Neutral” in the neutral templates of DOTX and POTX in documentation styles?

  2. A quick thought flashed my mind that organizing all users (module wise) helps me in tracking the content consumption (so I can select the “Identity” of the module to check the reports).

    1. What do you mean by ‘module’? If you mean by Org Unit then yes, that’s helpful for reporting. But it can be an ongoing maintenance nightmare if you have a constantly-changing list of users. Also users can only belong to one OU (plus inheritance), which can make cross-OU assignments/reporting difficult.

    When I accessed the SEN instance for the first time (after the purchase), I can see the workarea is already created and its name is same as the link of SEN Manager. Can I delete this workarea and create my own?

    Any suggestion please.

    1. Yes you can. I would personally leave the default one there ‘just in case’ (maybe disable it so it’s not accidentally used) but yes, you can create as many Workareas as you like, using whatever names/IDs you like.

    Is organizing users using Organizational Units (OU) important?

    Will this “Organize” help me anywhere?

    Because we have got a huge list of users to organize.

    Is it possible to code the Page Key manually for Desktop Assistant contents? So we can code it at least for a screen to make it appear. Because we are using VDI Citrix and it is blocking this page key to get generated automatically.

    1. I don’t think so. It’s a very specific format. But the good news is it only needs to be captured for one screen out of the whole simulation; I’ve captured screens (via the standard recording process) locally when I’ve been editing VDI-created simulations and that works OK.

  6. If I use “Use same text for demo/practice mode”, this is not using same bubble positioning. Is there any possibilities to achieve the same positioning for bubbles in both demo and practice?

    1. Not globally, no – the best you can do is use the copy/paste buttons for the Position property on each individual macro.

  7. Dirk,

    Some Step Names of my simulation are not translated using Machine Translation. What could be the reason?

    1. No idea. It works OK for me, translating all Step Names (just re-tested). Make sure you don’t have Only Object Properties selected, but other than that, it should be OK.

  8. I know this question is related to English grammar, but can you please tell me if it is correct to write “Click Save button” or “Click on Save button”? I can’t find exact answer in Google.

    1. So the Microsoft Manual of Style (always a good reference for technical communications) says “Click Save” or “Click the Save button” – but not “Click on the Save button”. Personally I tend to use “Click the Save button” where it actually looks like a button, and “Click Save” where it does not (e.g. modern UIs that have flat interfaces with pure text links). I will still use “Click on the Create Sales Order tile” for Fiori tiles, or other screen ‘objects’, though… Hope this helps.

  9. I just added only the role Master Authors in the excel.

    But after the import, I can see the user is containing Master Authors and Learners roles.

    1. Hmmm. There’s an option to say ‘add or replace’ roles on the upload wizard. Maybe selecting ‘add’ will give Learner by default and then add the role you specified to it. Try uploading the same file again, but selecting the ‘replace only’ option – that should reset it.

  10. The Learners role is automatically appended to the role when users are uploaded via Excel Import functionality.

    How to disable this? I can see the Server Settings -> User Management -> User Role for Automatic User Creation via Microsoft Excel Import setting.

    Will this setting help me ?

    1. I think that setting is used for the automatic import – where a user list is being extracted from e.g. AD and passed to SAP Enable Now. For a manual import from Excel (Administration > User Import) , you should have the role specified in the Excel spreadsheet.
