  1. Hello Dirk,

I have generated a compound document but the simulations linked to the course are not showing in the compound document print out. What setting do I need to enable so that my simulations would actually show in the print out guide?

    Thanks!

    1. The only thing I can think of is that your Documentation Settings > Compound Document resource isn’t set up to include simulations. Check the Projects > Include Projects checkbox and make sure that is selected.

      1. I got the the simulations to show in the compound doc. Now, my next issue is the table of contents. Every slide of the simulation is showing in the table of contents which makes it a very long table of contents. What setting do I need to disable so that every slide is not showing? And would that be in the course it self?

        Thanks!

  2. Hi Dirk,
Where do you change the description of a course in the learner view?

    1. In the Description property of the highest-level Book (or Group) for the course (that is specified in the Assignment).

  3. Hello Dirk,
I’m currently facing major issues wit SCORM Exports to LSO. Everything works fine except for the appearance of fonts. Textboxes of the same size, font, (all same settings) are displayed very differently. So the text in one textbox appears much bigger than in the one below etc.
Any tips for this to fix?
Thank you for any hints! Laura

  4. Hello Dirk.

Regarding the form bubbles in the guided tours, their position can be changed from the configuration. My question is, can the position of these bubbles be changed individually for each step? Or can it only be changed generally for all bubbles?

  5. Hello Dirk,
While saving my project on the server I got an error message saying one of the components in my project is in trash.
and it didn’t allow me to save the project.

Now all my data is gone.

    please help.

    1. Hey, Mahesh. Sorry to hear that. This is just for a single simulation? Did it restore it from the trash, or is it still there? You may be able to revert to the version before this happened (when it is open for editing, right-click, go to Server Actions > Revert Object). Or failing that, go to your Local Repository and see if it is still in there (search on the UID) and you may be able to recover it from there (I doubt it, but it’s worth a try).

      1. It was just single simulation. I couldn’t find it in trash as well as local repository.
        It’s gone.
Anyways, now I have learnt a lesson and now I’m creating a duplicate of every simulation in the producer.

        1. And it’s not in your local Trash in Producer and not in the Server Trash either? Sounds like it must have been a very specific set of circumstances for that to happen. Anyway, I’m sorry for your loss.

  6. Hi Dirk, I’ve created a beautiful presentation using Enable Now thanks to your great videos! But I’m stuck with an issue when I upload the scorm file in my LMS. The page does not fill the entire screen. It is centered but a lot of grey space. Is there any way to make the page larger? Would I need to change the dimensions of each bookpage and is this done individually?

    1. Hey, Marilyn! Glad to hear you’re doing well with SAP Enable Now. Most likely what you’re seeing is because in the Playback Settings > book reader, you have Zoom for Desktop Playback set to Zoom to 100%. Change this to Zoom to Fit and you should be good to go. Make sure you change it in the Playback Settings resource that is specified when you publish the SCORM package (this may be different to your default Playback Settings resource).

  7. Hello Dirk!

I have a question about the bubble in the guided tour, when a colleague records a tour, the step bubbles are always in the middle of the screen, but when I record a guided tour, the bubbles are with the object that I selected on the recording. Where is the configuration so that they appear to my colleague as me?

    1. For a Guided Tour in SAP Companion?? Assuming the Step Bubble Hotspot has been correctly assigned during recording, the Bubble should always point to the object if the object is available on the current application page. This is during playback? Of the same Guided Tour? If it is for GTs they record vs. ones you record I’d guess it is due to how they are assigning the Hotspot (assuming they are…). It could also be down to the context recognition; I’ve seen some odd cases where the application is being accessed differently (same app but different URL, for example) and the content is being rendered in an iFrame instead of in-page HTML, meaning that during playback it can’t find the object, and/or just sees the entire iFrame as the object. Check that (press i during Hotspot assignment and see if they see anything different to you). That’s the best I can think of.

  8. Hello Dirk!

I have a question about neutralization of page keys, the problem is that I can’t play the content created by a colleague in SAP Companion, at the time of recording a tour, it had a different theme in SAP GUI than mine, it is possible neutralizate it?
Because when I click play to start the tour in SAP Companion, all it does is flash the screen and leave me in the same place as before I clicked play.

    1. You’re talking about SAP Companion for Desktop (what was Desktop Assistant), correct? And not SAP Companion for Fiori – which should cope with changes to themes OK (and there’s no ability to ‘neutralize’ anything in SAP Companion for Fiori). Yes, you can always neutralize anything that’s been captured in the Page Key, but the trick is knowing what you need to neutralize. The best thing to do is for you to record a step or two in the same screen, and then compare what your recording has captured with what your colleague captured – that should allow you to identify what needs to be neutralized. (I’m assuming the same program (.exe) is being used, and it’s not just being captured for chrome.exe and you are playing back in msedge.exe…?)

  9. Hello Dirk,
while starting a producer, I’m getting zip error.
    what could be the reasons?
    kindly help.

    1. I’ve had a few reports of that, recently. It is typically either a corrupted file in your Local Repository, or a security program (malware filter) is blocking something. See SAP Note 2913561 for the former, and check with your IT people for the latter. If none of that helps, open an Incident with SAP (like I say, I’ve seen a few of these recently, so there could be a more widespread problem that they should be aware of.)

  10. hello Dirk,
I want to add more templates for the Intro page. In the system, only 2 templates are available by default.
    kindly help.

    1. You can’t create a new Intro page (or even customize the existing ones) – this is a product limitation. But as an alternative, you could create your own Book Page and use this within a Simulation Template. See the video I put together on the options, here.
