Hi Dirk! Hope you don’t mind answering another question.
We are about to migrate from On-Premise (HANA) Enable Now to Cloud.
It is clear how to migrate the content (via export/import workarea)
But is there the option, to also migrate historic data, roles, workflows, statuses, etc?
Also we want to migrate external users, could there be any problem?
Thanks in advance,
Yury
You’ll need to open an Incident with SAP and ask them to move it all for you; you can’t do it yourself.
Hi Dirk
According https://enablenowexpert.com/?p=547 “Quiz”, i followed your instruction but I couldn’t succeed to provide the answer appears, if the quiz is not wright.
My quiz can not show the answer in the browser.
Have you any other recommentations?
Thank you for your answer
Kind Regards,
Janne
You have elements called (exactly) feedback_correct_popup and feedback_wrong_popup, have populated the Quiz Passed and Quiz Failed properties, and selected Feedback > Show Feedback at the Question level? That should do it…
Hi Dirk
Is it possible that a step in the simulation does not progress unless a custom button is pressed or the same next arrow on the top bar is pressed?
I need the image that is displayed to not be omitted and immediately go to the next step
Not that I am aware of. The best you can do is hide the Navigation Buttons on the Control Bar – but you’d have to do that for the entire simulation (or globally, for all simulations).
How do I report/count the number of documents (e.g. PDF and Word) uploaded to the content library?
In Producer, select menu option Workarea > Statistics > Workarea Statistics, and look on the Types tab.
Hi! I have a training that uses ctrl+ hotkeys (like CTRL+T, CTRL+W, etc.)
When I publish as an .exe file and run the practice or test mode in a browser, using the CTRL keys results in browser actions rather than progressing in the simulation. For example, CTRL+T opens a new browser tab, CTRL+W closes the entire browser, etc. Is there a way to resolve this?
Thanks!
Hmm, not that I am aware of. Sorry. The browser will always get ‘first dibs’ on shortcut keys – I don’t think there is a way to force the content to always have focus. Best you can do is perform the action for the user and tell them that is what is happening.
Hi Dirk,
About the certification exam, how is the exam itself? What prerequisites are required to take the exam? Are you being monitored while you take the exam?
When I took the exam it was 80 questions taken at random from a pool of at least 200. It focuses a LOT on implementation- especially on premise, but I think they have reduced the focus on that recently. I would say SEN 100, 200, 300 and 50 are all essential prerequisites- especially SEN 300. It is proctored – you are on video the whole time, they ask you to show the room and hold up a mirror to make sure you have no written notes visible, and they monitor what is running on your PC throughout.
I have my resources set to NOT show objects in the Practice or Demo Text bubbles. I have not made any changes to my resource settings and now all of my simulations have defaulted t showing the objects in the Practice and Demo Text bubbles. How do I turn this off again?
Sorry, just saw this (was on vacation). I just answered a similar question on the Community. How did you initially hide the images? If it was by editing the Recording Dictionary, this may have been overwritten with a new version during the 2305 (end of May) update. Check that, and/or that your custom Recording Dictionary is set as the default.
Hello Dirk,
I hope you’re well,
I hope you can help me with the following case:
By mistake, a Master Authors converted an audio project with low sound quality (Convert to audio Project) into MP3 8 bit, Mono. How can I go back and convert the project with enhanced audio, to: PCM 44kHz, 16bit, Stereo?
I hope you can help me, I am attentive to your comments.
Sorry, Luis, I don’t think there is a way to do it. Once the audio is down-sampled, you can’t magically re-sample it at a higher quality. (Well, technically you could save it to a higher bitrate, but the quality won’t be any better.) Probably the best you can do if you have not Finished Editing the simulation is to Open Folder for it and see if the original audio files are still there, but I’m pretty sure the old copies are deleted on final save. If you had previously saved the simulation with the higher quality then you can always revert to the earlier version, but you’ll lose any other edits. You may be able to revert to an earlier version, extract the audio files, revert back to the latest version again, then swap in the saved versions, but you may find it renames the audio files, in which case you’ll be out of luck.
Hi Dirk
I recently purchased on of your eBooks I went to download and lost it now I cannot find the download links? I also subscribe to your Training site but I can find no history there of my purchases?
Could you please let me know how to download again as I have now added the eupb reader which I did not have.
You should be able to get to the eBooks via account.enablenowexpert.com. I’ll respond privately via email with the other details.
Hi! I’m looking for a way to get a clean workarea export of all assets. The export is just a copy of the folder structure, so the titles of all the assets are in different columns on the spreadsheet, due to some business areas having more subfolders than others. We want to be able to use the spreadsheet for users to easily filter each data field. Any tips? It requires so much cleanup to make the export usable. Thanks in advance for your help!
Hi, Jackie: There’s not an easy export out of SAP Enable Now, but what I always do is add a new column (D) to the extract, then use a formula of something like =IF(ISBLANK(E2),IF(ISBLANK(F2),IF(ISBLANK(G2),””,G2),F2),E2) to check the columns on the right (which will contain the object names) until it finds a value, and then use that. The above formula checks 3 levels deep; just add as many levels as you need, and copy it to all rows. It’s still manual effort, but it shouldn’t take more than a couple of minutes. HTH
Thank you, Dirk! I purchased your Web Assistant book and appreciate your insight. It would be great if some work would be done to create some better reporting in a future enhancement, as metadata is utilized in so many business applications. We need it to be more intuitive what attributes are needed when running the export as well. Ideally, we would like to run a connector to auto update a customer-facing library on a website. – J
