Hi Dirk,
I have logged in as Super admin and I am unable to see “SAP Companion Integration” in the “Administration” menu of the manager. As a super admin, when I tried to add the “SAP Companion snippets and scripts” permissions to super admin account, it didn’t allow me to do it.
You shouldn’t need to add any permissions to the Super Admin ID – that has permission to do everything anyway. Instead, give yourself the In-App Help Administration Role, which will give you the SAP Companion Configuration* permissions, and the Snippet Authors role, which will give you the SAP Companion Script Snippets* permissions. Both of those roles will give you the SAP Companion Integration menu option, and the individual roles control access to the Configurations and Snippets tabs within that.
I entered Authoring Settings -> Macro Initialization -> Special Macro -> Screen -> Documentation -> Border Width. I deactivated this. Still its appearing in the simulation.
That will only affect any new simulations you create. For existing simulations you need to deactivate it during editing, as mentioned in my previous reply.
This worked !! Can you please tell me how to turn off this Screen > Screenshot > Border Width as a whole? Currently, I am doing it individually for each screenshot.
For new simulations, change it in the Authoring Settings > Macro Initialization settings. For existing simulations the best you can do is per simulation: Use the Edit > Select Macros by Type function, select all/only Screens, and you can reset that property for all screens in the simulation at the same time.
When I apply borders to the screenshots of the documents in Documentation Resource setting -> Screenshots-> Border Width, borders are not reflecting to the documents generated.
Make sure the Screen > Screenshot > Border Width setting in the simulation is not active (the indicator on the left is gray not green). If it is active, it overrides the Documentation Settings value.
Hi Dirk,
What is the difference between .INAV and .DNT in terms of Desktop Assistant publishing. Till now, as a cloud SEN user, I have only encountered INAV links. Do I need to worry about DNT?
Thanks in advance.
.dnt is used for on premise implementations; .inav is for cloud. It’s unfortunate that the Start Link defaults to the on premise version, when most installations are cloud, these days.
Hi Dirk,
Reposting this question as this question wasn’t posted properly before.
I hided few modes of a simulation using hide option and then I created an assignment. I accessed all the assigned modes in learners view but the certificate is not displayed after its completion. Can you please assist?
Best Regards,
Danielle Favre
Is one of those modes Test mode? If not, you won’t get a Certificate. You need a ‘scored’ component in the Assignment (so, Simulation or Quiz in Test mode). Also check that completion is showing as 100% – sometimes capturing the last step in a Simulation or the last Book Page in a Book doesn’t register because of the way you leave/close it.
Hello Dirk,
Is it possible for learners to redisplay the What’s New content on SAP Companion?
Best Regards,
Danielle Favre
The What’s New page will always be available, until the content has been removed from it. If you mean the pop-up saying there is help, or if it was displayed as a ‘display once’ announcement then clearing the browser cookies would be the only way to re-display it.
Is it possible(feasible) to design start/end page template for simulations that contains moving(animated) avatar characters?
Sorry, I thought I’d replied to this. If it is a Book Page you can add .png, .bmp, .gif (including animated), and mp4. I think that’s all that’s supported.
Hello Dirk,
I created a user with Reviewers role but he can access producer. How to disable this functionality to the Reviewer?
Hi, Ram. That access is controlled by the Views: Authoring View permission. There’s also the Workarea Manager permission that allows them to select a Workarea, that you could probably remove as well. But I don’t know if removing Authoring View will actually work. It depends on how the review is carried out and how they provide feedback. In theory Workflow settings for an object can be changed without actually editing the object, but there may be something behind the scenes that needs this access. If you just want your Reviewers to be able to see non-Published content, remove all access from Reviewers, assign the Learners role to it, and then change the Workarea permissions for the Workarea to allow Reviewers to View All Content.
Hello Dirk,
for the report viewers role, it is not available to access the report of engaged unique users. What permission is missing for this report?
Hey, Enzo: Do you have GDPR active? if so you’ll need the User: View Details permission to be able to display any user information. Maybe it’s that.
