  1. Hi Dirk,
In learners view page, why simulations show only the modes and doesn’t show files like documents or video (I set “Display as” the “Object and sub objects”)? The learner should open the simulation in library view and then it shows documents/videos. Any reason for this design setup? Because this increases time taken to consume the course by learners. Is there any CIR created explaining this concern?

    1. I don’t know. Maybe SAP figured that generally you wouldn’t want to make displaying a document a ‘requirement’ for completing a course? Especially if there are simulation modes available. I’m not aware of a CIR asking for this, but you could always open one now…

  2. Hello Dirk. I have created a Quiz object which contains 4 questions. I added the Quiz to a Book in between some Book Pages. The Quiz appears in the Book hierarchy but it does not show up when I view the Published Book. Is there a setting missing somewhere so that the Quiz appears in the Published Book (Course)? Thanks

    1. Yes. the Quiz needs to be launched from a Book Page (the same way you would launch a simulation from a Book Page).

    1. Unfortunately not, at the moment, although there is a Customer Improvement Request asking for this functionality.

  3. Hello,
Is it possible to filter out who has created simulations in a specific time period? I used “Created On” filter in producer but it was asking to specify exact time including minutes and hours? How is this possible to provide exact time?

    1. Jamila: Yes, that’s the correct way to do it – just use a range and overtype the time as 12:00AM and/or 11:59:59PM, depending on what you need.

  4. Good morning:
In a typical guided tour, should the learners click on next button or should perform the action? Which one is right and recommended?

    1. For a better user experience, the Guided Tour should advance to the next step when they complete the current action in the application (so they do not have to click the Next button, and the GT is ‘keeping up’ with them). Assuming SAP Companion (for Fiori) this means setting the Automation properties correctly.

      1. Thanks for the reply.

        My sub question will be:
How to carefully use Guided Tours as it is going to make the learners to execute the actual process?
Do I need to notify learners about this?

  5. Hi Dirk,

I am unable to display the SAP Companion links in “Lightbox”. When I try to do that, I am getting a message as “abc.com refused to connect”. But I can open the link in new tab.

    Thanks

    1. The page or site you are linking to does not support being displayed in an iFrame. You can see if there is an ’embed’ version of the link (like there is for YouTube), but other than that, you are out of luck. Sorry.

  6. When running a guided tour, I want something like a “start tile” and that should have a start button in it just like a Finish button when tour ends. Is it possible to achieve this?

  7. Hello Dirk:

I am unable to display the SAP Companion links in “Lightbox”. When I try to do that, I am getting a message as “abc.com refused to connect”. How to resolve this?

    Thank you so much.

  8. I want a simulation to be displayed in all Fiori screens through SAP companion Learning Center. Is this possible?

    1. No, sorry, it is not. The screen (app name) is part of the context, so all content is applicable to one specific screen/app.

  9. SAP Companion: Good afternoon, currently SAP Companion only shows me the standard SAP help.
How do I configure it to show me the specific help I have created in the Producer?
Thank you very much in advance

    1. Well, there’s a few things in that. First, you don’t create SAP Companion help in Producer – you always create that through SAP Companion itself, in the system. To do that you need to be running in Extended mode (serviceLayerVersion=EXT), and you need to point dataUrlSEN2 to your Workarea that will contain your custom help (this is where it will be stored when you create it). Or if you want to see ONLY your help content, set serviceLayerVersion=SEN and set dataUrlSEN to your Workarea. If you mean you want simulations created in Producer to be visible in SAP Companion, again, you need to be in EXT or SEN mode, but set the learningAppBackendUrl and learningAppWorkspace to point to your Workarea. In any case, I’d strongly recommend you review the SAP Companion Integration Guide.
