  1. How flexibly can I use HTML in SEN? I tried to create a typewriter effect with the help of HTML and CSS. But it didn’t work.

    1. SAP Enable Now supports a very limited set of HTML, and even less CSS. If you enter any code it doesn’t like it will just strip it out (for security reasons). You can add CSS to the main stylesheet in the file system but it will then be stripped out whenever you edit the Text Styles resource. Short answer: Don’t bother trying to get creative. Sorry.

  2. What is the use of placeholder $%{project:.objectives}? I found this in a standard generic book page template. Where can I find this “Objectives”?

    Thanks Dirk

    1. That is a custom property SAP defined for their own content (along with project:.duration). Chances are your content doesn’t have those properties so it is of no use to you.

  3. Hi Dirk!

I have two questions, How can I add an index in the document standard? and, in the master document template, how can I add information to the table of contents?

    Thanks you!!

  4. Hello Dirk,

I have a question about how an input text works in a guided tour (SAP companion for desktop). I need to know if it is possible to combine the operation of the condition that is placed on the input text with the next guided tour step. My problem is that I have a text configured in which the condition is that if it is equal to F it goes 3 steps forward, skipping 2 intermediate steps, but I also have the next guided tour step configured that if it loses focus, it goes to the next step.
Basically, I need that if it meets a condition, the text avoids 2 steps, but if it does not meet the condition, it follows the normal path. Is this possible using these 2 tools?

    Regards!

    1. Hi, German. Yes, you can do that by using the Condition properties for the Input Text macro. There, you can say, effectively, “If the user’s input meets this & then jump to the step . That should achieve what you want to do.

      1. Hello Dirk, thanks for the answer, effectively, I can do that. But my problem is that if the user input does not meet the condition, it does nothing, it just jumps to the desired step if it does. What I need is that if it does not meet the condition, it goes to the next step, but if it does meet the condition, it goes to the next 3 steps, avoiding the previous steps.

  5. Hello Dirk,

Is there a demo system to be able to make an example of what SAP Companion would look like?

    Regards.

  6. Is there a way to disable exporting a simulation to word, a pdf or PowerPoint? We are changing our workflow and want our Education team to review all recordings and catalog them before sending them to our community. Any thought or suggestions would be wonderful.

    1. No, it’s all part of the same ability to create content objects. Best you could do is control who can Publish, so they can’t send out links – although that wouldn’t stop them from downloading a copy and sending that…

  7. According to our client standards, we must use Montserrat font style in SEN learning content. But in the simulation text area, when I typed “Montserrat” , it is automatically changed to Tahoma text style.

  8. Hello Dirk,

using the quiz function, users are asked to enter a specific word with certain “special” letters. This means that the respective word is already shown in the question and the users should enter/repeat it correctly in the input field. An internal tool for special letters is to be used for this purpose.

The problem is that the word can be simply copied from the question itself and the task is therefore easier to solve, although it’s intended to use the tool which is a generator for special letters.

Is there a way to make the text in the question copy-protected?

    Thank you!

    1. Not natively in SAP Enable Now, no. But what you could do is use the same trick as Captchas do – instead of having the text characters, make it an image and insert that into the question (Task) – or include it as question Media.

  9. Hi Dirk,
I was working on a client’s Manager as an admin and a master author till last week. Today the client asked me to get something from the Manager and I couldn’t see anything other than a Learner View. No changes were made by anyone to the permissions of my ID. I’m sure no one touched it as I am the sole owner of the Manager instance.
Could you please tell me what could have happened over the weekend?

    Thank you very much!

    Kind regards,
    Jo

    1. Answered on the community. Don’t trust Access Admin when they say nothing has changed!

  10. Hello Dirk,

Which is the best one to record Fiori simulations – Laptop or PC (with large monitor) ? Because the simulations created in big screen monitor look very large when played from a laptop.

    Thanks !

    1. Doesn’t make a difference if you record a REGION and not the entire screen. I would suggest setting the text size to 100% before starting, though.
