Hello Dirk,
One of my colleagues is facing an issue with the editing status of objects in Producer. Every time he edits something and tries to finish editing, he gets an error saying “Editing status is inconsistent…” The issue here is that every time he edits something, Producer assumes that he is editing it in Manager. When this error pops up, we have to ask SEN to not create a backup and to restore all objects back to their original state. I have observed this is happening only with folders. Simulations get saved but not in a folder which is causing issues with collaborative content creation.
We have done all of the following (not in the same order):
1. Made sure all editing statuses are cancelled from Manager
2. No one else is editing the target folders at that time
3. Closed the Producer, cleared all cache and cookies, and launched again
4. Deleted this user and created his profile all over again in Manager
5. Deleted all appdata files (local repository) for SEN, uninstalled the App Launcher, and reinstalled it
6. Used the age-old method of rebooting the system, multiple times
Could you please suggest what we can do here or what we are missing.
Thank you very much!
Best regards,
Johanna
Hi, Johanna: I have seen this on occasion. Usually getting the Author to delete their local repository (in CloudWa) and re-create it fixes the issue. But if it persists, you can try deleting the offending Groups (if it will let you) and recreating them. If that doesn’t work then I’d suggest opening a Case with SAP and getting them to have a look at it on the back-end (in the database). One other thing you could check is that the Author only has one Userid – not an SSO one and a Userid/Password one, as it could be mixing up permissions.
Thank you for your response Dirk. I had checked the user ID as well, only one email ID everywhere.
We will raise a ticket with SAP about the same.
Thanks again!
Hi Dirk,
Could you please let me know how to see the ID of a workflow? I found an entry in Google search which tells me these steps to find out the ID:
Open the SAP Enable Now Manager application.
Navigate to the content area where your workflow is located.
Select the specific workflow you’re interested in.
Look for a section or tab labeled “Properties,” “Details,” or “Settings.” The workflow ID should be displayed there.
Assuming the “content area where the workflow is located” is the Workflow page from the Administration dropdown menu, I cannot see the “Properties, Details, or Settings” section when I select a workflow from the list.
Could you please help?
Thank you very much for your time!
Best,
Johanna
Whenever I try to record a simulation in Instant Producer, I am unable to choose the recording area. Instead I get this message “Your recording area is predefined to ensure a consistent recording. You can move the red rectangle to a suitable position”. Can you please guide sir?
That’s because the Lock Recording Area checkbox is selected under Authoring Settings > Recording – General (in Producer). Deselect that, and you’ll be good to go.
Hi Dirk,
Hope you are doing well. I edited a book page and published it, also forced a new version. In the Manager, I cannot see the latest edit in the Modifications section, I do not see the changes in the Published View link, and needless to say, cannot see the changes in the Learner View. Could you please tell me what needs to be done to ensure the changes from Producer are carried through in the Manager?
Thank you!
Just to add, when I play the book page from the Manager, it shows me the newly changed objects!
So when you play it from Manager it is showing the latest version? I assume you’re just clicking the Play button in Manager? That will play the latest draft (basically the Authoring Preview). If you change the view to Published (Change All Content to Published in the upper-right) and then Play it do you see the latest version? If not, the latest version has not been published. If it is still the latest version, then chances are it is a caching issue – probably in the browser, but maybe in Producer? By ‘the Modifications section’, I assume you mean the History in Producer? If your changes are not appearing there, and you know you made them, then that is a problem and you should open a ticket with SAP. But check the Events list on the Tasks tab in Manager, first – that should also show the same history. If Manager shows your changes but Producer does not, try refreshing the object from the server in Producer and see what that does. That’s all I can think of, for now. HTH
Thank you Dirk, tried clearing the cache and cookies and it seems to be working now.
Thank you for your suggestion!
Hi Dirk,
Hope you are doing well. I have two questions:
1. Can you please tell me if there is a way to select all book pages together while editing them so I can make changes to a particular setting all at once? For reference, I mean the left side panel of book page editor. I have already used the Shift key and the Shift+Ctrl key while selecting the pages, doesn’t seem to work.
2. I have published a book with few chapters and book pages in them, but not all book pages are visible in the Learner View. Could you please advise here?
Please help.
Thank you!
(Answering Q2 – I answered Q1 separately)
Is everything published? All the Book Pages and all the chapters (Books or Groups [or Text Units…]). And are all the templates used by any of the Book Pages also published? If so, everyone should see everything…
Thank you Dirk! Yes, I had checked that as well. Everything was published.

Unfortunately not. It’s only possible to select one Book Page at a time. It’s a reasonable expectation that you’d be able to do so, in the way you can select multiple macros in a Simulation, but unfortunately the Book Page Editor just doesn’t work the same way – it would be too complicated given that properties are actually per Book Page object and not per Book Page, so you’d have to have exactly the same object (with the same UID) on each Book Page for it to work. Sorry.
Thank you Dirk!
Hi Dirk,
I want to purchase a walk me course for practicing with software have you added ?
Hi, Saiee: I’m in the middle of building out a suite of courses on WalkMe. I have two done, but it’s probably going to take me another couple of months to finish the rest of them.
Hi Dirk!
I have a question, i am configurating Sap Companion in BTP, they have SSO but no all of BTP users have credential in Sap Enable Now. BTP shows a pop up with an error when the user login it and dont have de SEN credential.
Is there any way that we can delete this pop up?
Thank you a lot!
Hi Dirk,
Hope you are doing good!
I am facing an unexplainable issue while creating SuccessFactors Guided Tours.
Until last week everything was working fine. Starting this week, for all the pop-up windows that appears due to clicking any tile or button, I am unable to create a guided tour step. Additionally, the tours I had created earlier and published, the steps for pop-up window are not working.
It was working fine until last week.
Cannot understand if it’s an enable now issue or a sap issue.
Can you help.
When attempting to install the Producer on a Windows 11 computer, I am getting a ‘no permissions’ error message, and thoughts? Do I need to change a setting in Enable Now?
