Purpose
Text Units are effectively 'empty' objects that only exist as a collection of properties (see below). The 'text' is actually stored in the Description property of the object. Because the Description is edited via the full Text Editor a Text Unit can effectively contain tables, images, placeholders, and so on, and be formatted using predefined paragraph or character styles, lists, and so on.
A Text Object can be used to define a short-ish block of information that can then be used in a number of places:
- They can be linked to from other objects
- They can be included in generate documents as a Fragment
- They can be used to 'group' object elements in the hierarchical navigation structure that appears in the Trainer
A Glossary entry is a Text Unit with a Document Type property of Glossary.
